Owls 2, red (M) and gray (F)(confirmed)
Location = MA
Habitat = Urban/Suburban, near by Park, Coastal, Wood Lots, w/ a smattering of industry
Cavities = 2 Squirrel resistant (1 Circle hole, 1 Slot) 1 known natural cavity within 60′ of nearest box used in coldest of weather

2010 1rst egg Feb 19th

6 fledged
(4 fledged on 4/23/2010, 2 fledged 4/24/2010)
2011
First Egg late pm 2/20/2011 or early morning 2/21/2011

History Grayphase roosted in normal box Nov-May 07-08, evicted by mom and pup squirrels May 08. 3-4 times seen in natural cavity 08-09. SQRboxes went up Fall 09.

Owls none (screech,Great Horned, and Barred all heard Fall 08, fall ’09, Screech heard spring 2010)
2011
Barred owl seen 200 yards away December 2010. GHO pellet found on site, nesting GHO 0.5 miles away. Screech owls heard both spring, summer, and fall 2011. no owls in boxes.

Cavities = 1 Squirrel resistant (Slot) 1 normal box on Purple martin pole

History Box on purple martin pole Oct ’08, Normal style box up Feb 2009, Squirrel took over Nov-Dec 2009, SQR slot up Jan 2010

Owls 2, F – Red (confirmed) M- 2010 Red (probable) 2011 M Gray confirmed
Location = MA
Habitat = Suburban, wood lots, near park
Cavities = 1 Squirrel resistant, (Circle hole) 1 normal box w/ owlet perch on Purple martin pole

Site 4
Owls No Screech, Great Horned heard in area Sept ’09, Sept 2010. Tree fell December 2010 replaced box December 2011.
Location = MA
Habitat = Rural/Suburban Fields, Farms, wood lots.
Cavities = 1 Squirrel resistant (4.5″ x 3.0″ hole)
Nesting = none
History normal box Oct 08′ took over by squirrels, SQR box up Sept ’09

Site 5
Owls 2, F-Red (confirmed) M (unknown)
Location = Maryland
Habitat = Suburban, Old Growth trees, houses, near park.
Cavities = 1 Squirrel resistant (1 Circle hole)
Nesting = 2008,1 confirmed w/ fledgling seen, 2009 1 probable, 2010 first egg estimated March 5-10, Eggs at least 2, at least 2 fledged.
2011
First Egg ??? similar 2011? food delivery March 13th 2011

History Normal box Feb 08, at least 1 fledgling seen June ’08. Oct-Feb 08-09 taken over by Squirrels. SQR box early March ’09, Probable nest end March-June ’09, (no fledglings wittnessed)

Owls no Screech, Great Horned heard Frequently,
Location = MA
Habitat = Rural/Suburban woods, some swamp
Cavities = 2, Squirrel resistant (1 Circle hole + 1 Slot)
Nesting = none
History SQR Sept ’09, Great Horned Owls heard through out spring-winter ’09-’10, Second SQR slot box up Oct ’10

Site 7
Owls none
Location = MA
Habitat = Rural, Woods (better Barred Owl Habitat?)
Cavities = 1 Squirrel resistant (1 Circle hole)
Nesting = none
History SQR box up Jan ’10

Site 8
Owls April 2010, Gray phased (M/F??) spent a few days roosting. 2011 as many as (4) distinct individual owls,
nesting pair = F – gray (bold white facial tufts) M – gray a bit browner (confirmed)
Habitat Rural/Suburban wood lots, lawns, couple roads, near by brook,woods
Cavities 2 SQR Boxes(1 slot, one Circle)
Nesting = none
History SQR boxes up Feb ’10

Site 9
Owls 2 = Apparent pairing Gray seen together Aug 2011, (M/F???) and Red (M/F??)
Habitat Rural/Suburban wood lots, some swamp, near by lake and woods.
Cavities 1 SQR Boxe(slot)
Nesting = none
History SQR box up Dec 21 ’10, Owl seen 12 days after installation, Jan 2 ’11
